Adaptation and the use of GIS

The GIS-T Project will transfer GIS awareness and knowledge to school education.

In the face of this global problem, strategies reducing the effects of climate and adapting to the new situation are being sought and implemented.

GIS (Geographic Information Systems) is considered to be of the most important technological developments affecting humanity.

GIS is a powerful tool that enables the analysis of geographical information, understanding the present situation, interpreting future scenarios and producing sustainable long-term plans.

Thanks to the visualisation and analysis of scientific data using GIS, it is possible to see and understand the “big picture” and establish potential responses.

The use of state-of-the-art GIS technology and methods in school curricula related to climate change using tools with students is essential in raising future generations with spatial analysis and problem-solving skills.
